january days.

Days seem to slow down a little more once January hits.
Leaving more time to enjoy things such as:
your living room.

Alex's spicy peanut brittle.
reading that book or magazine you haven't had time to get to yet.
cozy slippers.
coffee in a mug instead of that to-go cup.

puppy sitting this cute little thing.
playing rock band with some of our little friends :)
snow.
soup in a mug.
lazy mornings.
blankets. lots of blankets.
meals at home.
the ever growing pile of coats on the coat rack.
time indoors out of the snow, ice, rain, sleet and whatever else MO wants to throw our way.

 Happy Winter.

talent.

Here is Alex's latest project! He filmed a live concert for Becky Blackaby and put together this promotional video for her. Check it out!

He's good folks. Really good.

(once again, to see it in all it's HD glory click on the link to watch it on the vimeo site)

snow.

It wasn't a lot of snow by any means, but we sure enjoyed it.
I'll take a lazy snowy morning any day.
More pics tomorrow? Hopefully.

Happy Winter,

a good husband.

You know you have a good husband when you come home from work to a clean house, jiffy pop, a pizza, and a chick flick waiting for you.

I love surprise date nights and my amazing husband. :)
Happy January!

Christmas.

Our favorite season has come and gone once again and we soaked up every wonderful minute we had with family and friends. This year we spent Christmas eve and Christmas day down in Memphis with Alex's family and it was a great weekend of catching up and enjoying some relaxation.

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!

the twelve dates of christmas

We started a new tradition last year. Our new tradition is to go out on 12 dates the 12 days before Christmas instead of getting each other presents. It has been one of the best decisions we've made. Neither of us are big shoppers so it takes away the stress of finding presents and replaces that with some quality time with each other. I just wish we would have thought of it sooner! Here is a peek at some of our dates.

A night out for hot soup at bread co on a cold rainy night. perfection.

coffee dates are an all time favorite. they just never get old.

my 103 degree fever couldn't even keep me away. it just kept me bundled up :)

a new place. one million different kinds of gooey butter cake. ok, maybe not one million.

coffee was a recurring theme on our dates this year.

an incredibly cute place.

Some of the other date nights not pictured:
Getting coffee (once again) and driving around looking at pretty Christmas lights
Game night
Christmas movie night (with movie theater candy and popcorn included)
Breakfast at Waffle House
Dinner at our favorite place: Cracker Barrel

We sure do love this new tradition. I'm already looking forward to next year!
